Out and About

Well this weekend we didnt have any games so i've just been hanging out. Friday night I went with the family to watch Niels' softball game. I was completely miserable because I was freezing..it was soooooo cold!! I was supposed to go out that night with the boys and Denise and her friend who also has an American girl with her but I decided not to go since I was tired and freezing.

On Saturday I went to the boys baseball game and I really enjoyed myself.  It was the nicest day we've had so far in a week so Frans and I rode our bikes over to the club. I sat with Frans and some people from the club and then Niels came and sat with us towards the end. It was also freezing and very windy..way too windy. We ended up losing 3-1. It was a pretty uneventful game. We hungout after and visited with the boys and they invited me out again and said that since I did not have a game I had to go. haha. but i'm glad I did.

Wauter and Michael came and picked me up (on our bikes of course) at around 10 and then we went over to Dennis' apartment and had some beers before we went out to the 'disco' or club. I was the only girl but I still had fun, they are really good guys. There were 7 of them and myself so it was really entertaining and I definitely feel safe being out with them. We all had fun and danced and drank..and drank..and drank! I have no idea what time we left but it was light by the time Wauter got me back. The ride back was pretty scary due to the fact that my coordination wasnt so good and I was having problems riding my bike in a straight line! I ended up finally falling but it wasnt a big fall..everytime we would stop or slow down I would just tip right over..which doesnt suprise me because those are things I have trouble with when im sober!!

Today I went into the city with Brandon, the American baseball pitcher.  It was nice to spend time with another American who spoke only english and could relate to a lot of things..especially because I was feeling pretty homesick today. He came and picked me up (on bike again) at around 1:30 and we rode to his apartment and left our bikes there, then took the metro into Rotterdam. We walked around a little bit, then had lunch in a little restaurant. It was my first time trying this dish that all the boys love and I must admit it was pretty delicious..its french fries covered in meat, melted cheese and lettuce. Soooo good and I dont even like french fries!! We sat there and talked for a long time then rode the train back to his apartment, then we rode back to my home. We all hungout watching a college baseball game and then the ice cream truck came so we all went out and got ice cream.

Tomorrow is the first soccer game that Holland is playing in so I think we will all be going to the clubhouse because they have been decorating it orange since Friday and it is such a big deal over here! It should be interesting, i'm hoping for Holland to win so that everyone is happy :] We have one game on Tuesday night that is a makeup game from a rainout a couple weekends ago. The team we are playing is the Red Lions and they are last in our league. I believe I will be pitching and I will also be hitting again!! Wish me luck!!
